WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Come on in. Kick back. Relax. Stay a while.

This blog is dedicated to my adventure in photography. You'll see bits of my adopted hometown, New Orleans, as well as plenty of pictures of my sons, Dylan and Logan, and, of course, the children and families that allow me to capture the special moments in their lives.

I'll be updating the blog frequently, so add me to your blog reader. And if you have a blog yourself, I'd love to be added to your blog roll. Lastly I love comments so if you've particularly enjoyed a post or a photo please let me know!

Sneak Peek: Dora + Shane [ New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

I've been a bad, bad blogger. I'm behind with my sneak peeks. In truth I'm trying to move my blog to a new format and I was hoping to just start posting to the new blog straight away, but I'm having some technical issues so here I'll stay a little longer.

D+S - thanks so much for your patience! And enjoy your peek. The full gallery will be ready very soon.

Sneak Peek: Melyssa + Christy [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

One of the best parts of my job is capturing happy, excited couples as they await the arrival of a child. And M + C are no exception. Actually happy doesn't begin to cover it. Giddy might be more accurate. And why not? They only have a few more weeks to go before they welcome home their beautiful baby boy. M+C - I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: Jessica + Jordan [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

These two are so cute and excited about welcoming their first child. To commemorate this time in their lives we had a wonderful session in the Quarter. I just love all the textures and colors the Quarter has to offer.

And P.S... isn't she gorgeous??? Wow. :)

Sneak Peek: "S" Family Maternity [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the S family at their home for some maternity pictures. And what a lovely family of 3 - soon to be 4! - they are. Being new to this area and still settling in, I'm so impressed that they even found the time to do maternity pictures. And flattered of course that they chose me to capture this special time of their lives.
.

And check out the beautiful soon-to-be big sister!

Sneak Peek: Gina + Toru [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

Have I ever mentioned how I love doing maternity sessions in the early evening? Just an hour or so before sunset is perfect. The is golden and so so beautiful. Now most of my littlest subjects aren't at their best that late in the day, but it's fantastic for session with adults or older children.

Need proof? Just check out the lovely Gina and Toru. We met up at City Park last weekend in the early evening for a great maternity session. G+T _ I hope you enjoy the peek. And I can't wait to meet little J!

Sneak Peek: Aleicia + Chancellor [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

The day of Aleicia and Chancellor's session, I was watching the weather carefully. We had planned an early evening session in the park, planning to take advantage of the beautiful golden light that appears just an hour or so before sunset.

Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans, right? Rain was predicted that day but as late afternoon arrived the sky was overcast (so much for my golden light) but the rain held off. We pushed our session a bit earlier to compensate for the dark sky. And then, just as I was walking out the door IT started. Big fat raindrops. I popped back inside to call Aleicia again. First we decided to postpone. Then we decided to go ahead and make the best of it with an indoor session.

But as I pulled up to Aleicia and Chancellor's house, the rain stopped. My golden light was still MIA, but I wasn't about to quibble with mother nature. We got a few quick shots inside and then headed outside. We decided against heading to our original location as time and daylight were growing short and instead opted to take advantage of their Uptown location. I think the results are well worth all the last-minute coordination.

A+ C - I hope you enjoy the sneak peek! And to all the other moms-to-be out there, let me know if an Uptown maternity session appeals to you!

Sneak Peek: J+B [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

I was lucky to meet up with a very sweet couple for maternity photographs last week. J and B are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their long-awaited baby boy and they had one special request for their maternity session: that we take pictures at the carousel in City Park, a place with special meaning for them. Now, I've never taken pictures at the carousel before (well, at least not real portraits!) so it was a new experience, but a fun one. J and B - I hope you enjoy the pictures and I can't wait to meet your little one!

Sneak Peek: J+B [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

It seems like I've been deluged with sessions with beautiful moms-to-be lately, but J+B's session stands out to me. Not because they're a gorgeous couple (although they are!). And not because we had a fantastic day in the Quarter for the session (although we did!). But because it's not often that a get the inquiry from the dad-to-be looking to do something sweet, special and unexpected like this for his wife. (Men out there - take note!)

J+B - I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. And I can't wait to meet your little one! By the way - Have I mentioned how much I love newborn shots with dad - especially when the dad has some nice colorful tats? I'm just sayin'.... :)

Sneak Peek: Nathalie + Jason [New Orleans Maternity Photographer]

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Nathalie and Jason last Sunday for a maternity session in the Quarter. I was happy to find out that the French Quarter is a very special place to them - making it an even better location to celebate their upcoming bundle of joy with some maternity portraits. The French Quarter was packed for the Ironman, but once we got a little off the beaten path, just as amazing as always - full of wonderful colors and textures.
Nathalie and Jason - I hope you had fun! Congrats again on your pregnancy and enjoy the sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: K's Maternity Session

Okay, so my sneak peeks are getting later and later... but at least they're not "post" peeks yet, right? Anyway, I had the opportunity to photograph K's adorable son Philip a year and a half ago when I was portfolio building and mentoring under the fab Lyndsay of Life in Motion Photography. Well now Philip is going to be a big brother so I had the pleasure of not only photographing him again, but also doing maternity portraits for his mom.

(I'll warn you now, she's skinny and beautiful so don't hate her too much, okay? ;))

Here are just a few of the pictures from our day at the park...

And the soon-to-be big brother (and yes, his eyes really are THAT amazing):

Doesn't he look like an ad for Junior GQ?
