WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Come on in. Kick back. Relax. Stay a while.

This blog is dedicated to my adventure in photography. You'll see bits of my adopted hometown, New Orleans, as well as plenty of pictures of my sons, Dylan and Logan, and, of course, the children and families that allow me to capture the special moments in their lives.

I'll be updating the blog frequently, so add me to your blog reader. And if you have a blog yourself, I'd love to be added to your blog roll. Lastly I love comments so if you've particularly enjoyed a post or a photo please let me know!

New! Referral Program for 2009

New for 2009! With every order in 2009 you’ll find some referral cards. Hand them out to your friends, family, co-workers – anyone you know that would enjoy custom portrait services. They simply hand in the referral card with your name as the referrer at the time of their session and you get the credit.

The details:

- The referrer (you!) must be a past client of Amy Drouet Photography. That means you must have completed a session and placed an order with me in the past.

- The referral must be a new, unbooked client to Amy Drouet Photography.

- The referred client must complete a session and place an order for the referrer to be given credit.

You receive:

Each referral: One $50 gift certificate toward a future session! Add them up and you’ll have enough for a free session in no time!

Your referral gets:

(1) free 8x10 just for handing in your card and participating in the program!

That’s it! Easy, right? So have fun with it! And I hope to see you for your free session soon.

P.S. You can get additional referrals cards at any time. Just drop me a line!

Sneak Peek: S + B (maternity) [Luling Maternity Photographer]

S and B have been veeeeeery patiently waiting for their sneak peek. (Yup, I'm a bit behind again.) These two are so cute and excited waiting for the arrival of their first little one. I can't wait to meet him or her too!

S and B - enjoy the peek. It may be a tad late but the gallery should be ready right on time. :)

Sneak Peek: Lilli [Harahan Infant Photographer]

If you missed my first post about Lilli, just scroll down to the next post. I spent Valentine's Day morning with Lilli and her family. What a little charmer this baby girl is already. And those eyes, oh those eyes!

And here's the new big sister too!

Just one from today... [Harahan Infant Photographer]

Becase I couldn't resist playing with and posting this one as soon as I saw it downloading on my card.

This is Lilli. Check out those baby blues!

Sneak Peek: Cousins [Jefferson Child Photographer]

Last weekend I had the chance to meet up with four young cousins. One of them, Miss Genevieve, was a newborn client of mine ten months ago. Wow, has she grown! It's so, so fun to see the little people that my newborn clients become. The P family has been patiently waiting for their peek, so without further ado, here it is. :)

This handsome dude is Caleb:
And this is his brother, Cody. Cody was oh-so-serious, but we eventually got him to crack a smile:

Hannah was little Miss Personality:

Hannah and Caleb are best buds. Aren't they so cute together?
And this is Miss Genevieve. I just love that pouty little face.

And all the cousins together. Have I ever mentioned how hard it is to get four little kids to all sit AND look AND smile at the same time??? This shot didn't hit all of the objectives, but man are they cute!

Sneak Peek: Triplets! [Algiers Baby Photographer]

It was a beautiful afternoon for my session with the triplets: Linus, Oliver and Miles. I can hardly believe these boys are one already! The Quarter was packed which added a few complications, but nothing that we couldn't overcome. And to whoever threw us those beads... thanks mista! They were a big hit. :)

Crazy Hair

Logan has the funniest hair. It's stick straight. And fluffy. Yup, I said "fluffy." Even freshly washed and brushed, it never lies flat on his head. It's always just sort of fluffy and fuzzy, puffed out around the top of his head.

So the other day I doused his scalp in baby oil before his bath to help get rid of a bit of cradle cap(It works, moms. I promise!) I must not have washed the baby oil out well enough because I put him down to nap with damp, mussed up hair and he woke up with it pretty much like this. And it stayed like this for the next day and half until I could wash it again! It's back to normal now, but I'm sure with a little styling product, Mr. Crazy Hair might make another appearance. :)

Sneak Peek: Reid (10 days old) [Kenner Newborn Photographer]

This weekend I got to spend some time with little Reid. Reid was so cooperative that he slept nearly his entire session. You see, Reid still has his days and nights mixed up. Not so good for mommy and daddy, but great for me. ;)

(Daddy calls Reid his little monkey so I thought the above shot was especially appropriate!)

Sneak Peek: Zack [Slidell Infant Photographer]

I had the pleasure of meeting up with my old friend Zack again this past Friday. Well, old if you can call 7 months, old. :) Zack is an adorable bundle of bright red hair and big blue eyes. And he was all sweet baby chubbyness on Friday and... he's sitting up! He was a little sleepy for our session, but we still got lots of smiles and great expressions.

Back again

After several fun-filled, kid-less days in San Francisco I'm back and at work again. If you had a session before my trip, you'll have your gallery in the next couple of days. If you placed an order before my trip, stay tuned. I've gotten several orders in and I'm currently sorting through them, packaging them up, and getting ready to send them out. I'm getting caught up on all of my correspondence as well so if you haven't heard back from me on something, just give me another day or so and I should be 100% caught up. Happy February!
